We adopt a proactive and adaptive marketing model and are developing new trading capabilities to better meet the growing demand for oil, gas and refined products around the world.
ADNOC is commercially developing unconventional gas resources, trapped in tiny rock pores, by thinking and acting differently.
ADNOC is committed to developing and maintaining a qualified, competitive and sustainable supply chain of partners and service providers.
We continue to look for new and innovative ways to maximize the value of our energy resources.
The world’s energy demand is rising, but so is the urgency to tackle climate change. At ADNOC, we have been committed to protecting the environment since our operations began in 1971.
When the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan founded ADNOC, he ushered in a new era of unprecedented growth and prosperity for the UAE. Key to the company’s development plan was his unwavering commitment to balancing economic gains with long-term stewardship of the environment and communities in which ADNOC operates.
He was ahead of his time in instituting one of the industry’s first zero-flaring policies, pioneered conservation efforts to protect ecosystems as we expanded onshore and offshore, and laid the foundation for ADNOC to become one of the least carbon-intensive oil and gas producers globally.
According to the 2019 International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP) Environmental Performance Report, we currently rank in the top five lowest greenhouse gas (GHG) emitters in the oil and gas industry. We also have one of the lowest methane intensities (0.01%).
Since 1971, we have successfully reduced the volume of natural gas flared by more than 90%, thanks to the flaring policy mandated by the UAE’s Founding Father.
艾尔Reyadah是世界上第一个完全商业carbon dioxide (CO2) facility for the iron and steel industry, and the first commercial-scale carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) facility in the Middle East. It was launched as a joint venture between ADNOC (51%) and Masdar (49%) in 2016. We initiated this project in 2009 and eventually took full ownership in 2018.
Al Reyadah is critical to achieving ADNOC’s 2030 sustainability goals and helps to combat climate change by eliminating the CO2 emissions equivalent to the amount that 170,000 automobiles produce. Each year, it captures up to 800,000 tonnes of CO2 from the Emirates Steel Industries (ESI), underscoring our commitment to being an industry leader in environmental sustainability.
Read MoreWe will decrease our greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) intensity by 25% by 2030. We will expand our CCUS capacity by 500%.
One of the ways we will achieve a lower GHG intensity is through the expansion of the capacity of our Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) program, which currently captures 800,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (C02) annually to reach 5 million t...
